With heartfelt good wishes and prayers for continued blessings, the Augustinians of the Assumption, family and friends of Fr. Donat Lamothe, A.A. recently celebrated his 50th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood.
A Mass of Thanksgiving in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Assumption College in Worcester, MA was followed by a joyous reception.
Six teachers from the International Language School in Manila are presently participating in the newly established Assumption College TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate Program. This new effort is the result of the collaboration between the College and our Assumptionist delegation in the Philippines.
This two session program, which runs through June 14th, will also include a weekly morning practicum at St. Peter’s Parish’s ESL program in Worcester, MA during the second session.
On Sunday, April 29, 2012, the Assumptionists invited their families and close friends for an informal gathering at Assumption College. We celebrated the Eucharist and then enjoyed a plentiful brunch.
Although this event coincided with the Dedication of the new Tinsley Campus Ministry Center, the objective was simply to provide an occasion to be with those we care for and who care for us. We rarely have such an opportunity to share in this way and to thank those dear to us for their love and support.
With sadness yet with Christian hope and trust, we share with you the news of the sudden death of Father Phil Bonvouloir, A.A. He was recently diagnosed with cardiac difficulties, and was found on Saturday morning (April 28, 2012) in his room at the rectory at Saint Anne Saint Patrick Parish in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where he had been re-assigned as Associate Pastor for the last years of his life.
