Tinsley Campus Ministry Dedication PDF Print E-mail

Dr. Francesco C. Cesareo, PresidentApril 27th - 29th, 2012

I am pleased to announce the schedule of events for the dedication of the Tinsley Campus Ministry Center. This distinctive addition to the Chapel of the Holy Spirit is an important expression of the College’s Catholic mission and identity.  The Center will allow our Campus Ministry staff to expand and enrich its programs that will contribute to the spiritual formation of our students.  The centerpiece of the Center is the Heritage edition of The Saint John’s Bible, as Assumption is the only college in New England to own this magnificent work.

Visit of Mexico and USA by Br. Didier Remiot, Assistant general PDF Print E-mail

Br. Didier fourth from the right, standing, with Casa Manuel residentsReflections by Br. Didier Remiot, A.A

Father Superior General had asked me to be, among the five members of the General Council, the one who would more closely follow the activities of the "North America/Philippines" province. The new Provincial Superior of this province, Fr. Miguel Diaz Ayllon, requested as well that I become a member of the Assumption College Board of Trustees and attend the February meeting. These were the two main factors which led to my visit of the Assumptionist communities in Mexico City and Massachusetts last February.

PALM SUNDAY PDF Print E-mail

PALM SUNDAYAS WE CELEBRATE PALM SUNDAY AND BEGIN HOLY WEEK
Let us reflect on this prayer by Fr. Emannuel d'Alzon, A.A.

"Jesus, you who on the cross were my model, my priest, my king, and my God, you who entrusted me to your mother, who forgave the thief, who thirsted for my salvation and who, after fulfilling the Scriptures, said that everything was finished; you, whose power tore the veil of the Temple, tear the veil of my illusions; you who brought the dead back to life, bring me back to the life of grace; you who split rocks, break the hardness of my heart so that, dying with you, I may also rise to new life with you."

(Praying 15 Days with Emmanuel d'Alzon by Fr. Jean-Paul Perier-Muzet, A.A., p. 55).

CAN A ZEBRA CHANGE ITS STRIPES? PDF Print E-mail

Fr. Richard Lamoureux With a theme like this, who would not be intrigued to hear more? For it was on this note that Fr. Richard Lamoureux, A.A. opened this year's Parish Lenten Mission at St. Anne/St.Patrick's in Sturbridge, MA. From the beginning and during his homily, it was apparent that his presentations on conversion and transformation would not be without a bit of humor. In his talks Fr. Richard demonstrated that this process can only take place when we come to understand that with God, all things are possible. In addition, he generously integrated  examples from the life of St. Augustine as found in his Confessions. For all who attended, this mission provided much food for thought and reflection as we continued our Lenten journey. As always, Fr. Donat, A.A. provided music that enriched a period of meditation time as we prepared to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This mission was truly a rich blessing for the parish.

Just recently on March 11th, 2012, Bro. Eduardo Cezar Molina A.A known as "Ed‟, had his memorable diaconate ordination in Our Lady of Pentecost Parish. Surprisingly, the ordaining Bishop, Most Reverend Leopaldo C. Jaucian SVD, D.D who came all the way from the Diocese of Bangued, was Ed's former classmate way back in his early formation years. With numerous guests, family members, Assumption family and other religious congregations the rite of ordination began right on time at 1:30 in the afternoon.
