This year the Assumption family in Vietnam is offering residence to 84 university students in Saigon, in four different communities. They are studying a variety of subjects: humanities, management, education, law, languages, engineering, etc. in many different schools. They are all responsible for organizing their daily life together. There is an Assumptionist and an Assumption sister assigned to each community to help with the spiritual development and to provide overall direction.
Mass is celebrated weekly in each community and residents meet weekly with a priest or sister. Every other week there is a meeting during which different themes are addressed such as the life of faith, human development, the life of the Church, etc. During the course of the year, there are joint celebrations and days of retreat (Advent and Lent), as well as opportunities for volunteer work. Any number of vocations to the Assumption Family have resulted from these residences. At the beginning of this past academic, as usual, all the residents got together for a general orientation --- Mass, a meal, recreation, and conferences.
