St. John Paul IIAt the close of the Jubilee Year of 2000, in reference to the Christian’s call to HOLINESS by virtue of Baptism, St. John Paul II writes the following: “The time has come to repropose wholeheartedly to everyone this high standard of ordinary Christian living” (Apostolic Letter: Novo Millenio Ineunte, #31). He then goes on to mention the importance of prayer for “training in holiness” and that “we who have received the grace of believing in Christ . . . have a duty to show to what depths the relationship with Christ can lead”, and that “the great mystical tradition of the Church of both East and West has much to say in this regard” (NMI, 31-33).

Beginning Saturday, September 27, at 8:15am in the Conference Room below St. Anne Church, you are invited to explore the “great mystical tradition” of the Church. We’ll be using the small volumes that belong to the series CLASSIC WISDOM COLLECTION, published by Pauline Books and Media. We’ll begin with Life’s Purpose: Wisdom From John Henry Newman.

Please contact Bro. Paul Henry, A. A. at 508-347-7338, ext. 224 or ny56henry@yahoo.com if you have questions or are interested in attending these sessions, NO LATER THAN Saturday, September 20, so we can order books for you to purchase at the St. Anne Shrine Gift Shop. For September 27, please read the “Foreword” and Sections I and II, pp. 1-6.
