On this site you have read about the kidnapping of three Assumptionists priests, Jean-Pierre Mumbere Ndulani, 50, superior, Anselme Kakule Wasukundi, 41, pastor, and Edmond Bamtupe Kisughu, 53, pastoral associate, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, abducted from their rectory on October 19, 2012, nearly six months ago. No reliable contact has been made with their kidnapers since.
Recently the Oblate Sisters of the Assumption in Belgium composed the following prayer in their regard.
"We give you thanks, God our Father, for you are our God, our Creator.
You have given us life and our future is in your hands.
You it is who govern history and the events of the world according to your will.
Uniting ourselves to your Servant Fr. Emmanuel d'Alzon, we come, full of filial trust, to place before your kindness the destiny of our brothers: Jean-Pierre, Anselme and Edmond.
We likewise present to you all those who have suffered and continue to suffer the same fate as they.
Strengthen them all by the merits of the glorious Passion of your Son and the fire of love of your Spirit.
Grant your peace throughout the eastern regions of the Congo and especially where we, the members of the Assumption Family, work. We pray as well, Father of infinite mercy, for those who have abducted them. Forgive them and convert their hearts.
May you be blessed, O Father, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen!"
Conclusion: One Our Father, three Hail Marys, and one Glory be to the Father.
