The strength of Christian charity is to be able to love those whom we judge to be impossible to live with and who, in turn, consider us impossible to live with as well. - Emmanuel d'Alzon

Home WHAT’S NEW NCEA HONORS A FRIEND OF ASSUMPTION COLLEGE
|
On Monday, October 4th, the National Catholic Educational Association honored eight individuals with the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award, which recognizes those who have made significant contributions to Catholic education through philanthropy, leadership and service.
Among this year’s recipients were Donald and Michele D’Amour of Somers, CT who are major supporters of public and private education in CT, MA and of Assumption College.
Firmly committed to strengthening the Catholic identity of Catholic schools and colleges, the D’Amours committed $1.5 million to Assumption College in 2006 to endow and expand the Foundations of Western Civilization Program. In 2008, they made an additional $4.2 million gift to endow a chair in Catholic Intellectual Tradition.
It is with a profound sense of gratitude; we congratulate Don, an alum of the college and Michele D’Amour for their generous support and commitment to Catholic education, especially to Assumption College!
