.

You are also invited to participate in the Daily Mass online at worcesterdiocese.org

 The following can be prayed alone or with family members in your household.

 In the name of the Father,
and of the Son (+),
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PENITENTIAL ACT
Brothers and sisters,
let us acknowledge our sins.

A brief pause for silence follows. Then all recite together the formula of general confession:

 I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

OPENING PRAYER
Let us pray.

Gladden us with holy joys, almighty God,
and make us rejoice with devout thanksgiving,
for the Ascension of Christ your Son
is our exaltation,
and, where the Head has gone before in glory,
the Body is called to follow in hope.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
For the apostles of the Church today, that they may continue to make disciples of all nations.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That Jesus who mounted His throne amid shouts of joy, may establish His rule over the hearts of world leaders, guiding them into ways of life, justice and peace.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That God may give us all his Spirit of wisdom, so that we may know the hope of our calling.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For all who are suffering and who experience the absence of God in their lives, that the Holy Spirit might come to them with healing and courage.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For all who have died, that Jesus, whom the Father raised from the dead may use His power and dominion to bring them to eternal life in heaven.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

LORD’S PRAYER
At the Savior’s command
and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER
Almighty ever-living God,
who allow those on earth to celebrate divine mysteries,
grant, we pray,
that Christian hope may draw us onward
to where our nature is united with you.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

DIOCESAN PRAYER IN TIME OF PANDEMIC
O God,
whose Only Begotten Son
bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation,
hear the prayers of your Church
for our sick brothers and sisters
and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:
Be not afraid, for I am with you always.

Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right
and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name
in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen

BLESSING
May Almighty God bless us,
the Father (+),
and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
