.

You are also invited to participate in the Sunday Mass online at worcesterdiocese.org

 The following can be prayed alone or with family members in your household.

 In the name of the Father,
and of the Son (+),
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PENITENTIAL ACT
Brothers and sisters,
let us acknowledge our sins.

A brief pause for silence follows. Then all recite together the formula of general confession:

 I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

OPENING PRAYER
Let us pray.

Almighty ever-living God,
constantly accomplish the Paschal Mystery within us,
that those you were pleased to make new in Holy Baptism may, under your protective care, bear much fruit
and come to the joys of life eternal.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
On the firm foundation of Christ, the cornerstone, may we be living stones to build the Church and offer songs of praise and thanksgiving to the living God.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That the Lord might inspire leaders of nations and all in government service to make plans and decisions that will foster the common good.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For the deacons of the Church,
that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit
as they proclaim the Word of God
and work for God’s kingdom.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That those who are in distress and pain might put their faith in Christ who is the way that guides them, the truth that consoles them, and the life that revives them.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For all who have died, that Christ may lead them to the place He has prepared for them.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

LORD’S PRAYER
At the Savior’s command
and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER
Graciously be present to your people,
we pray, O Lord,
and lead those you have imbued with heavenly mysteries
to pass from former ways to newness of life.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen

DIOCESAN PRAYER IN TIME OF PANDEMIC
O God,
whose Only Begotten Son
bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation,
hear the prayers of your Church
for our sick brothers and sisters
and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:
Be not afraid, for I am with you always.

Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right
and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name
in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen

BLESSING
May Almighty God bless us,
the Father (+),
and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
