Augustinians of the Assumption

:: Quote of the Day ::

Let us never forget that we desire to incarnate Jesus Christ in ourselves, live from His life, be other Christ’s, and journey together with Him.

.

You are also invited to participate tomorrow in the Sunday Mass online at worcesterdiocese.org

 The following can be prayed alone or with family members in your household.

 In the name of the Father,
and of the Son (+),
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PENITENTIAL ACT
Brothers and sisters,
let us acknowledge our sins.

A brief pause for silence follows. Then all recite together the formula of general confession:

 I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

OPENING PRAYER
O God, who raised up Saint Mark, your Evangelist,
and endowed him with the grace to preach the Gospel,
grant, we pray,
that we may so profit from his teaching
as to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ.
Who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
For the gift of good missionary vocations in the Church,
that the Gospel may be spread into the whole world.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That we may be sober and vigilant,
steadfast in faith and strong in suffering,
that God may confirm us in His love.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For those in government service,
that they might persevere in these troubled times.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For all who have asked for our prayers:
for the sick, the anxious and those in need,
that they may cast their cares on God
who tenderly cares for them.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That Jesus
who has taken his seat at the right hand of God
may receive our departed brothers and sisters
into the mansions he has prepared for them.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

LORD’S PRAYER
At the Savior’s command
and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER
Grant, we pray, almighty God,
that what we have received from your holy altar
may sanctify us and make us strong
in the faith of the Gospel which Saint Mark proclaimed. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

DIOCESAN PRAYER IN TIME OF PANDEMIC
O God,
whose Only Begotten Son
bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation,
hear the prayers of your Church
for our sick brothers and sisters
and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:
Be not afraid, for I am with you always.

Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right
and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name
in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen

BLESSING
May Almighty God bless us,
the Father (+),
and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
