LAY ASSUMPTIONISTS HOST POST-EPIPHANY CELEBRATION

The Lay Assumptionists from Sturbridge and Brighton hosted the Second Annual Post-Epiphany Celebration at Old English Road thanks to the generosity of Fr. Dinh and the local community, on Saturday January 12th, 2019. In addition to Lay Assumptionists, those in attendance included the religious, friends and invited guests.

The morning began with a welcome, short prayer and a presentation by Patty Haggerty, provincial representative of the Lay Assumptionists and member of the General Commission of lay members which met in Rome last October.

In her sharing, Patty highlighted the membership of the commission, their mission and shared a reflection on the charism of Emmanuel d’Alzon and the role of formation in the lives of Lay Assumptionists. Of significance was the discussion on “The Way of Life” for lay members which parallels the “Rule of Life” for vowed Assumptionists. In sharing so much information, in our limited time, Patty the experienced teacher that she is, used a story board and power point.

Following the session, everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon

Following the session, everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon in the dining room prepared and coordinated by the ever-faithful Sturbridge members. This engendered continuing conversation and the sharing of joyous convivial Assumptionist fellowship into the afternoon.
