After a year of preparation and expectation, on Friday, July 10, a group of teenagers from two Assumptionist high schools in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Instituto San Román and Instituto Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, left for Assumption College in Worcester, some 50 kilometers from Boston.
It was a long trip, with a stopover in Houston, before arriving Saturday afternoon at Logan Airport in Boston.
Assumption College authorities were waiting for us at the airport and gave us a warm welcome!
Sunday we began our stay with Mass in the College's Chapel of the Holy Spirit, where we were welcomed by Fr. Mulumba, a friend of Fr. Medard, currently director of the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Buenos Aires. Both are from the Congo.
The rest of the day we spent getting to know the campus and getting our things in order before classes began Monday.
Monday: classes begin! Our first two lessons:¨Listening and speaking¨ and ¨Art Section 1¨. After going over our chores, we spent some time in the recreation center, did some homework, and headed off to supper.
Evening activities --- Nathalie and Fabio, our chaperones, had a surprise in store for us, water games on one of the ball-fields!
