On the Feast of Saint Augustine, August 28th, 2014, five novices from four continents and two provinces professed their first vows in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Assumption College in Worcester, MA. The Most rev. Robert J. McManus, Bishop of Worcester, presided at the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Jose Miguel Diaz Ayllon, A.A., Provincial of North America and the Philippines and Fr. Juan Carlos Cisterna, A.A., Provincial of Chile-Argentina were concelebrants.
Bros. Jonathan Adams from Turkey, Leo Provido Divinagracia from the Philippines, Vijaya Sagar Gundiga from India, Marciano Lopez Solis from Mexico and Wilder Perez Cubas from Peru completed their novitiate under the direction pf Fr. Richard Lamoureux, A.A., Director of Novices and his Associates, Fr. Alex Castro, A.A. and Fr. Mulumba Matsongani, A.A. The celebration presented a beautiful image of the international diversity of the vowed Assumption family. Bro. Blair Paulus Nuyda from the Philippines and Fr. Joseph Chun Xiang Zhang from China renewed their vows during the same ceremony.
In the days that followed, several of the brothers departed to their respective provinces for further studies, except Bros. Jonathan, Blair and Sagar who will remain in the U.S. Territory to further their education.
Following the ceremony, the community and guests enjoyed a buffet reception/supper and continued the celebration.
