We recently heard from former Cassadagan Ron Gaulin who met up with a friend in Rome. He wishes to share this joyous experience with the Assumption family.
“I really enjoy the newsletter and the photos because I look for people I know. So when I knew I was going to Rome, I contacted fellow Cassadagan John Franck and we started e-mailing back and forth.
Where me and my family stayed in Rome was a 15 minute walk from the Assumptionist General House. So on the evening of December 30, 2013 my son Lt. Col. Eric R. Gaulin.
And his grandson, Cooper E. Gaulin and I walked to the house and saw John. We got to talking about old times and recalled what one of our teachers, Fr. Antonio Laberge, A.A. said in world history class, “Gentleman, when you go to Rome one day...”
We enjoyed our supper with John and 3 other priests and had a good conversation. John was able to get tickets for all the family for the following night to attend the Te Deum and Vespers, the evening service, at St. Peter’s Basilica. We had great seats and the chance to see Pope Francis! It was an awesome occasion and what an experience!.”
