Assumptionist Gives Retreat in Chinatown

We had received 35 Chinese Catholics in St. James Church, Chinatown in Boston on Dec. 14, 2013, to response the Group of Spirituality Development as the organizer to encourage Chinese Catholics to prepare ourselves for the Coming of the birth of Jesus and the Coming of his Kingdom. All those 35 people had confessed during the day retreat. Our retreat started by 8:30 in the morning and ended at 5pm in the evening.

The Theme of the Chinese Retreat is experience God in Advent. I offered 4 talks to them, those respectively are: encounter with God in our life, encounter with God in Waiting, the joy of waiting, and prepare His way.

I made 12 PowerPoint for the participants including all the songs and Morning Prayer, in case to let them understand what I was talking about, so that they could fully understand my Mandarin and poor Cantonese. In our evaluation at the end, they all said they understand me totally. Thanks be to God for all his blessings, May God bless our mission in the west and in the east.
