Despite the continued economic challenges facing families and the ongoing demographic decline in the New England region, interest in Assumption College has never been greater. The College experienced record numbers: 18,393 inquiries and 4,013 campus visits. And for the first time in the history of the College, it surpassed 4,000 applications, with 4,368.
First-time full-time freshman enrollment came in at 590 students and transfer enrollment came in at 40 students. The quality of the entering class is the best it has ever been as the College recruits a higher caliber of student. This is also the most diverse class recruited with 22 states represented, 16 international/non-U.S. citizens in the class, and 14 percent ALANA students (ALANA= African, Latino, Asian, Native American).
The College currently offers 40 majors, features an average class size of 20, and houses 90% of its students. About 20 Assumptionists live in two residences at the College: professors, administrators, students, and retired religious.
